  • Overview

    Provides administrative and database support for Donor Relations activities for Goodwill Industries of the Valleys. Maintains confidential database systems; supports cultivation and stewardship programs for donors and written communication with internal and external constituents; coordinates meetings, seminars, and events.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides administrative support to Donor Relations Department for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities; interacts with Goodwill staff to gather and provide program information to internal and external constituents; coordinates program participant information to support development solicitation.
    • Responsible for gift entry processes: scanning checks, tracking weekly batches, coding and tracking general donations, tributes, and other gifts.
    • Coordinates donation acknowledgement processes, thank you notes, tribute gifts and others.
    • Coordinates all aspects of workplace campaigns (United Way, CVC, etc.), including annual applications, pledge tracking and donor acknowledgments.
    • Plans and completes arrangements for departmental business meetings, and social events; attends meetings and prepares minutes for distribution; oversees special development projects.
    • Tracks and maintains confidential database information, records, and filing systems.
    • Works with Goodwill staff to set up and coordinate tours of Goodwill facilities.
    • Initiates and coordinates appointment scheduling; prepares purchase requisitions and travel arrangements, and completes final paperwork; maintains supply inventory.
    • Assist in volunteer management projects
    • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by Donor Relations staff.

     

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ability to perform job responsibilities independently.
    • Operate a computer with various software packages (e.g. Excel and Bloomerang) with advanced skill.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience, Competencies and Education
    • Associate Degree preferred with additional related training and three years of related experience or five years’ experience in total.
    • Detailed oriented with strong organizational, analytical and planning skills.
    • Knowledge of philanthropy, fundraising, and/or charitable giving.
    • Ability to accept and embrace various development programs and strategies.
    • Strong project management skills.
    • Ability to meet people with ease.
    • Ability to write and edit effectively.
    • Ability to interact with diplomacy and tact amid community supporters and diverse groups.
    • Professional phone skills
    • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
    • Be a self-starter that is well disciplined.
    • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work well and effectively with all personnel.
    • Knowledge of the long-range planning process.

     

    • Mathematical skills
    •            Basic mathematical skills are required.
    • Reasoning ability
    • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (Formulas, equations, graphs, etc.). Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

      • A valid driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of insurance is required to drive personal vehicle on company business. Additionally, an acceptable motor vehicle record based on Goodwill guidelines is required to drive a company vehicle or transport program participants.
