The Baler has the responsibility of baling clothing, shoes, purses or plush, stacking and unstacking gaylords and loading trucks when bales of clothing, purses and plush, and/or other salvage items are sold or shipped out.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear. Lifting, pushing and pulling are performed 85% of the time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally push or pull 500 lbs. utilizing a wheeled container or pallet jack. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Can sometimes be exposed to hot and cold temperature conditions.
