  • Overview

    Goodwill has an opening for a Production Worker I to perform a variety of operational functions that constitutes the assembly, production, inspection and distribution of quality products or services for commercial customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Reads job packet and work instructions and performs work as assigned by supervisor
    • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
    • Adheres to all quality standards as outlined in the Quality Management System (QMS)
    • Displays positive work ethics and provides positive influence on program participants and coworkers
    • Follows direct instructions from supervisor
    • Works as part of a team
    • Mixes, measures and pours ingredients
    • Loads and unloads items from machines and carts
    • Assembles the materials needed to produce finished products
    • May use power tools to drill, screw, staple and assemble parts
    • Meets quotas and production standards

    Qualifications

    • Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • Basic mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
