  • Overview

    Goodwill has an opening for a Production Team Lead. This employee will lead teams of production workers and workers with disabilities either on-site at GIV premises or off-site at customer locations. Leads the production team to ensure the proper set up of contracts, quality requirements and customer delivery expectations are met. Works as a part of the production team by performing quality checks, moving product into and out of the work area and assisting the production team with the preparation of product for customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Reads job packet and work instructions and performs work as assigned by supervisor
    • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
    • Adheres to all quality standards as outlined in the Quality Management System (QMS)
    • Displays positive work ethics and provides positive influence on program participants and coworkers
    • Follows direct instructions from supervisor
    • Works as part of a team
    • Provides direct supervision to all assigned staff and program participants
    • Assures that personnel work safely, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adheres to safety procedures
    • Makes recommendations for program participant work assignments and performance reviews
    • Assists with time studies, job set-up and work assignments
    • Works with production and quality teams to write, review and implement work instructions
    • Starts assembly and production machinery at beginning of shift
    • Unloads, organizes and stocks shipments
    • Provides instruction and employment support to program participants through meeting work schedules and daily task assignments in community based work settings
    • Instructs personnel in the use of tool, machinery and equipment

    Qualifications

     

    Experience, Competencies and Education

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two or more years of operations/production experience; experience in providing excellent customer

    Certificates/Registrations/Licenses

     

    • Forklift
    • First Aid
    • CPR
    • Hazardous Materials
    • Blood borne pathogens

    Valid State of Virginia driver’s license and proof of insurance required to drive personal car on company business.

    Additionally, 3+ point DMV record required to drive company vehicle. 

     

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather condition. Employee may have exposure to working near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration while assisting on the production floor or customer locations.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
